Pinto discusses growing up in Maine and relocating to Wisconsin, where she attended the State Normal School in La Crosse and was graduated from its first class. She describes her education, school president Fassett Allen Cotton, Bessie Belle Hutchinson and other teachers, and her own teaching career, which included teaching in embassies in Washington, D.C.
